Frequently Asked Questions

Where do the lessons happen?
In-person lessons are usually at the client’s house, but can also take place at a library. It is important for a parent or guardian to be in the house during the entire lesson.
Online lessons are conducted via Google Meet or Zoom
What grades do you teach?

Grades 1-12, and first year of university level math.

How does scheduling work?

You’ll be signing up for a weekly tutoring program. For most students, they’ll have sessions at the same time each week.

We will discuss this during our initial consultation, and we can discuss changes to the schedule at any time.

What times are available?
Monday to Friday: 9am to 9pm

Saturday and Sunday: 9am to 7pm

How does online tutoring work?

During online sessions, we will be using an excellent, highly secure screen-sharing platform.

The shared whiteboard enables both the student and teacher to write together on the same page, while interacting on a video call

Students must have access to a computer, an audio headset with microphone, and a reliable Internet connection.

Who will tutor my child?

Our experienced tutors are typically in their senior year at UofT, TMU, or York University, studying math or a math-related subject

At the initial consultation, we’ll discuss your child’s learning needs, to match the right tutor for your child.

David supervises all tutors weekly to ensure your child’s math learning needs and working relationship are on track.

Do I have to commit to a certain number of lessons?

After the first lesson you and your child can decide if you'd like to continue. Thereafter, there is a minimum commitment to 12 more lessons. You can cancel at any time after that, with zero days notice.

How often should my child have tutoring lessons?

Frequency of lessons depends on your child’s needs.

Most students have one 1-hour lesson every week.

If your child needs extra support, two 1-hour lessons/week are possible.

Can I book just a few lessons or bi-weekly lessons?
Yes. Please contact us for the price of ad-hoc lessons or bi-weekly lessons
I need extra help this week. Are you available?

Yes. Please reach out to us and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.

Do you help with school homework?
Yes. The lesson can be used to cover your child's schoolwork, our own curriculum, or a bit of both. The choice is yours.
Can you provide support for other school subjects?

Yes, we also provide tutoring in biology, physics, and chemistry.
